Traditional Chinese Medicine

TCM, which is more than 2,000 years old, is a holistic practice that aims to balance the body, spirit and mind in order to find equilibrium and harmony, and thus alleviate and prevent illness.

What is TCM?

Traditional Chinese Medicine is recognised and widely recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a valid practice for various pathologies. During the first consultation, the therapist will make the diagnosis according to the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the first treatment will be carried out.

Acupuncture is probably the best-known technique of traditional Chinese medicine and uses the insertion of very fine needles into specific points aimed at balancing the body's vital energy - Qi.

With its treatments, TCM stimulates the human body's ability to self-regenerate and evolve towards healing. After a series of treatments, it is hoped that the problem will not recur and that the patient will experience, in addition to immediate relief from their symptoms, a better quality of life in the long term.

With a strong connection to nature, it is based on four fundamental concepts:

  • Qi;
  • Yin e Yang ;
  • The 5 elements;
  • Meridians.

As children are at a stage of life when they are fully developed, their Qi is very moldable and open to Chinese medicine techniques.

Techniques adapted to the different stages of childhood mainly include needle-free techniques such as pediatric Tuina, cupping therapy, pressure therapy and phytotherapy.

Children respond very easily and positively, and it usually only takes a few sessions for symptoms to improve.

QiGong

QiGong or Chi Kung is an ancient Chinese practice that combines physical exercise, breathing and meditation.
